Citi: U.S. stock positions have improved for three consecutive weeks.
Citigroup strategists indicated that, supported by new inflows of risk capital, the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 index continues to rise, and the allocation level of US stocks has improved for the third consecutive week. The research team led by David Zhou stated that the overall positioning of the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 remains tilted towards the bullish side. "Short positions in several major markets have decreased, and the impact of short squeeze effects is weakening." The team believes that the vulnerabilities in positioning are concentrated in already profitable long positions, such as the Russell 2000 and certain European markets. Despite facing adverse geopolitical and policy factors, European stock markets continue to attract new inflows of risk capital. In the Asian markets, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index experienced a large-scale short covering, moving market positions out of an extremely bearish range.
