On Monday local time, U.S. Treasury yields rose broadly. The 30-year Treasury yield, which is typically sensitive to geopolitical events, increased by more than 4 basis points to 5.311%, marking the highest level since June 2007. The 10-year Treasury yield the key benchmark for mortgage, auto, and credit card debts rose by more than 2 basis points to 4.724%. The 2-year Treasury yield, which usually tracks the Federal Reserve's short-term rate decisions, climbed by over 1 basis point to 4.182%. Oil prices increased as the 60-day deadline for a peace agreement between the U.S. and Iran was set to expire on Monday, with Iran ruling out any extension. Investors are awaiting the release of the Federal Reserve's minutes later this week to gain further insight into the Fed's latest monetary policy decisions and future rate trends. In the July 29 meeting, the Federal Reserve voted 9 to 3 to maintain the interest rate at a range of 3.50% to 3.75%. The three dissenting committee members Harker, Kashkari, and Logan called for a 25 basis point rate hike.
