Alphabet (GOOGL.US) has become the largest institutional shareholder of SpaceX (SPCX.US), holding a position worth $94 billion, having made a $9 billion bet in 2015 that paid off a hundredfold.

According to Zhitong Finance APP, a $900 million bet made in 2015 has now transformed into an investment legend with a hundredfold return. With SpaceX (SPCX.US) completing a historic IPO worth $86 billion in June of this year, Google's parent company Alphabet (GOOGL.US) has become SpaceX's largest single institutional shareholder thanks to its early investment.
