This afternoon, at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, a spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics stated that since the beginning of this year, China's economy has shown a trend of shifting towards new drivers and optimizing its structure. The green component has been continuously enhanced, and new green growth drivers are being accelerated. In July, the value added of the biobased material manufacturing industry increased by 20.6% year-on-year, and the demand for new energy vehicles and new energy storage has risen, driving a 58.8% increase in lithium-ion battery production. In the first seven months, China supported higher-quality industrial growth with lower energy consumption, resulting in a 3.5% year-on-year decrease in energy consumption per unit of value added in industrial enterprises above a designated size. The retail penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles has exceeded 60% for four consecutive months, reaching 65.1% in July, meaning that for every three passenger vehicles sold, about two are new energy vehicles.
