The fishing season in the South China Sea has arrived.

Today at 12 noon, the three-and-a-half-month fishing moratorium in the South China Sea has ended. In Yangjiang, Guangdong, over 800 fishing boats from the Zhaopo National Center Fishing Port are heading out to sea. When can we expect to taste the first catch after the fishing season opens? Following the operational rhythm of previous years, the nearshore fishing boats are expected to return to port as early as tonight to tomorrow dawn, bringing back shrimp, crab, and other local seafood. Once these catches are landed, some will enter the port market, restaurants, and shops in tourist areas, while others may go through pre-cooling, freshness-locking, refrigeration, and processing stages, before being transported to more distant markets via cold chain logistics. Todays fishing season opening scene featured more than just fishing boats setting out to sea. Before the fishing ban was lifted, there were various performance activities here, with 13 uniquely decorated boats from various counties in Yangjiang as well as from Hong Kong and Macau parading in the harbor. Yesterday, a series of 15 activities, including a fishing-themed wedding and non-heritage performance, were held by the dock, marking the largest scale and variety of events ever for this occasion. During this year's fishing season activities, the expected visitor flow is projected to reach around 1 million people.
