According to reporters from Beijing Xinfadi Agricultural Products Wholesale Market, the wholesale price of ordinary eggs has surged about 5.5% compared to the same period last month and has increased approximately 48% compared to the same period last year, with a daily trading volume of 540 tons, up 128 tons year-on-year. Zhu Ning, an associate researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, indicated that looking ahead, as the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays approach, along with the start of a new school term for primary and secondary schools, the consumption potential for eggs will be fully unleashed. The price of eggs is expected to operate at a relatively strong trend. The supply of eggs is expected to increase due to a considerable number of chickens being replenished in the second quarter, coupled with a rise in new egg-laying hens recently. This is favorable for stabilizing egg prices, making it unlikely for egg prices to see a significant rise.
