Samsung Electronics' research and development investment reached a record 27 trillion won in the first half of the year.
Regulatory filing disclosed on Friday indicates that Samsung Electronics' R&D investment in the first half of 2026 reached a record high of 27.3 trillion won. The South Korean tech giant's R&D expenses from January to June increased by 51.5% compared to 18.06 trillion won in the same period last year, setting a new historical record for a half-year. Samsung Electronics' equipment investment in the first half of the year also hit a half-year record, reaching 28 trillion won, an increase of nearly 5 trillion won year-on-year.
