The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently released the "National Acute Respiratory Infectious Disease Sentinel Surveillance Report." The monitoring results indicate that the current stage is at the peak plateau of this wave of the epidemic, overall remaining at a moderate level of prevalence, with the main circulating strain still being the NB.1.8.1 variant lineage. Some provinces have already shown a downward trend. Since the classification of COVID-19 as a Class B infectious disease, it has become a common and frequently occurring respiratory infectious disease, with no change in the severity of the illness. The monitoring results also show that the intensity of influenza activity is currently fluctuating at a low epidemic level; the positive rates for rhinovirus and enterovirus testing are showing a downward trend; the positive rates for human metapneumovirus and parainfluenza virus testing are also decreasing. The positive rates for other monitored respiratory pathogens remain at a low level.
