According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association, in early August 2026, key surveyed steel enterprises produced a total of 19.73 million tons of crude steel, with an average daily output of 1.973 million tons, representing a month-on-month increase of 5.8%; 18.5 million tons of pig iron, with an average daily output of 1.850 million tons, showing a month-on-month increase of 5.5%; and 18.19 million tons of steel, with an average daily output of 1.819 million tons, reflecting a month-on-month decrease of 8.2%. Based on this, the estimated daily production nationwide during this period is 2.67 million tons of crude steel, a month-on-month increase of 5.8%, 2.34 million tons of pig iron, a month-on-month increase of 5.5%, and 4.05 million tons of steel, a month-on-month decrease of 2.7%.
