According to news from the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Committee, in conjunction with relevant member units, held discussions and analyses on the nationwide natural disaster situation in July 2026. In July, natural disasters in our country were primarily typhoons, floods, geological disasters, and wind and hail events, with droughts and earthquakes also occurring to varying degrees. Preliminary statistics indicate that various natural disasters affected approximately 16.729 million people across the country, causing 318 fatalities and missing persons, necessitating the emergency relocation and relief of 2.525 million people, damaging over 1,500 households and more than 5,000 rooms, with 60,000 households suffering damage to around 190,000 rooms, and an affected area of crops amounting to 1,282.3 thousand hectares, resulting in direct economic losses of 57.15 billion yuan.
