OpenAI has appointed its second Chief Revenue Officer in less than a year, indicating that the company is working to strengthen sales growth in preparation for its highly anticipated Wall Street IPO. OpenAI has hired Dali Rajic as the new Chief Revenue Officer; Rajic previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Wiz, a cybersecurity company under Alphabet, and will replace Dennis Dresser, who joined OpenAI last December. Dresser will leave the company after the transition period is completed. This appointment comes amid ongoing adjustments to OpenAI's executive team, with recent departures of executives including Brad Lightcap, Figueroa Simo, and Kevin Weil. OpenAI President Greg Brockman stated that the company needs to continually demonstrate that every dollar clients invest in AI can generate "measurable business value." He disclosed that OpenAI's annual revenue run rate grew by over 20% month-over-month in July, with enterprise customer business increasing by 32%. Last month, OpenAI announced that its weekly active users have surpassed 1 billion.
