Space computing power refers to the deployment of artificial intelligence computing power nodes from ground data centers to space orbit, utilizing abundant solar energy and the natural low-temperature environment of space to address the challenges of energy consumption, heat dissipation, and land resource limitations faced by ground computing power. Currently, the global demand for computing power continues to grow, and countries are accelerating the deployment of low Earth orbit satellite constellations, making space computing power an important breakthrough for new productivity. Yesterday, the "New Productivity Development Conference - Space Computing Power Industry" was held in Beijing, where the event discussed technological breakthroughs and industry development, aiming to accelerate the implementation of space computing power in China. At the event, a company showcased its independently developed aerospace-grade GPU chip specifically designed for computing power, reducing the hardware cost of space computing power from tens of thousands of yuan to a few thousand or even a few hundred yuan. The event also featured domestically produced space servers equipped with a dual-core spaceborne operating system, which can switch to a backup core in milliseconds when encountering cosmic high-energy particle interference, ensuring continuous on-orbit computing power without downtime.
