Meituan's rider "wait for the light and stop the meter" feature has been piloted in road tests in Beijing.

On August 13, Meituan launched the "Wait for the Light and Stop the Timer" feature for delivery riders, marking the first official version in Beijing, and pilot areas have begun road testing. It is reported that in the first half of this year, Meituan's Delivery Safety Technology Team conducted product internal testing on certain roads in Beijing and built a prototype for providing a model for pilots nationwide. Currently, pilot road tests are being conducted on certain roads in Beijing's Chaoyang District, Tongzhou District, and Economic and Technological Development Zone, which are among the first to integrate traffic data. The time delivery riders in Beijing spend waiting at red lights will gradually be calculated separately and added to the delivery time. Meituan revealed that over 20 other cities are also under evaluation, and cities that meet the requirements will gradually go online.
