The European technology stock index is expected to set the record for the longest winning streak this year.

European semiconductor stocks rose on Wednesday, driving the European Stoxx 600 Technology Index on track for its fifth consecutive day of gains. If the upward momentum continues, it will set the longest winning streak since December of last year. Chip stocks generally increased: ASML Holdings was up 1.8%, ASMI rose 3.0%, BE Semiconductor climbed 2.4%, Infineon gained 3.0%, and STMicroelectronics was up 1.5%.
