Shenzhen-Shantou's electricity consumption in the first half of the year broke records, with nearly half used for the production of new energy vehicles.

In the first half of 2026, the total electricity consumption in the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone reached 1.017 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 33.56%. This marks the first time that the semiannual social electricity consumption in Shenzhen-Shanwei has exceeded 1 billion kilowatt-hours. Among this, 48.2% was used in the manufacturing of complete electric vehicles.
