Asiana Airlines' shareholders approved the merger with Korean Air.

On August 12, Asiana Airlines held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, where the merger proposal with Korean Air was voted and approved. The two companies will officially merge into "Korean Air" on December 17 of this year. Following Korean Air's formal announcement of its acquisition of Asiana Airlines in November 2020, the merger process has been advanced after undergoing reviews by domestic and international competition authorities. Asiana Airlines stated that following the approval of the merger agreement by the shareholders' meeting, the company will effectively implement various follow-up measures accordingly.
