Zhejiang: Establish a list of neurological interface medical device products for research and development to accelerate the product.

The General Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province has issued a notice on "Measures to Promote the Synergy between Industry, Academia, and Research in Brain-Machine Interfaces." It mentions support for conducting clinical research. By leveraging clinical resource advantages and standardized management capabilities, clinical trial bases, clinical and translational wards, and clinical preparatory cohorts for brain-machine interfaces will be constructed in a classified manner. Beds designated solely for clinical research will not be included in the assessment and evaluation system for bed efficiency, turnover rate, utilization rate, and diagnosis-related group clinical performance. Efforts will be made to promote reform in review and approval processes. For brain-machine interface products entering the special review process for innovative medical devices in the country, dedicated personnel will provide guidance. A development list for brain-machine interface medical device products will be established, and "early intervention and collaborative review" services will be implemented to expedite the product launch process. Second-class brain-machine interface medical devices with clear clinical value and strong innovation will be supported in entering the special review procedure, with review timelines compressed to within 40 working days. A priority inspection green channel will be opened for brain-machine interface medical devices urgently needed in clinical settings, and "immediate processing upon arrival" will be implemented in registration inspections, verifications, and check-ups.
