Report: In the first half of the year, global economic losses caused by natural disasters reached hundreds of billions of dollars.
One of the world's largest reinsurance companies, Swiss Re, stated on August 11 that the estimated economic losses from natural disasters worldwide reached $100 billion in the first half of this year, a significant decrease compared to $152 billion in the same period last year. However, in the second half of this year, the El Nio phenomenon may exacerbate the destructive power of meteorological disasters, and the risks cannot be ignored.
