Following Seed and Flow, ByteDance has established a new AI department focusing directly on data.

According to multiple independent sources, ByteDance recently established a new primary departmentAI Data and Security, which is on par with the Seed, Flow, and Douyin departments. The head is Wang Yinglei. This follows the establishment of the Seed and Flow AI primary departments at the end of 2023, marking another primary department formed by ByteDance around its AI business. Wang Yinglei was previously the person responsible for TikToks accountability and TikTok Live. "The live streaming business Wang Yinglei oversaw was one of TikTok's main sources of revenue and had made significant achievements within ByteDance," said a person close to the company.
