On August 11, Chen Zhenlin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the China Meteorological Administration, met in Beijing with Chen Zhong, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on jointly enhancing meteorological service capabilities and benefits for major engineering projects. Xiong Shaoyuan, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the China Meteorological Administration, also participated. Chen Zhenlin pointed out that since initiating cooperation in 2024, both sides have complemented each other's strengths and empowered one another, carving out a new path for integrated development in "Meteorology + Transportation Construction." In the face of exacerbated global climate change, frequent extreme weather, and increasingly prominent meteorological risks, he hopes the two sides will continue to deepen cooperation, promoting meteorological services to extend across the entire project lifecycle, covering planning and design, construction, operation management, insurance claims, and more; expand globally by utilizing the meteorological intelligent early warning program "Mazu" and the World Meteorological Center platform to deeply embed meteorological services throughout overseas projects; and leap towards intelligence by fully tapping into the value of meteorological data, jointly developing artificial intelligence meteorological forecasting models for transportation, and collaboratively establishing a model of cooperation between departments and enterprises as well as a benchmark for meteorological services in the real economy.
