According to Bloomberg, Rocket Lab has indicated that its Neutron rocket project still faces new delays, with the initial launch potentially being pushed back to 2027. The company plans to deliver the Neutron to the launch pad in the fourth quarter as originally scheduled but has not confirmed that the rocket will be ready for its inaugural flight this year. Previously, Rocket Lab aimed to complete the first launch of Neutron by the end of 2026. Rocket Lab stated that the complex development cycle of Neutron still carries "risks and uncertainties," and the specific launch timing will depend on booster test results and other factors. Neutron is a larger and more powerful rocket developed on the basis of Electron, with one of its goals being to compete with SpaceX's Falcon 9. In terms of financial results, Rocket Lab's revenue for the quarter reached a record $234 million, surpassing the market expectation of $232 million; adjusted earnings resulted in a loss of $0.08 per share, slightly worse than the analysts' expected loss of $0.07. The company anticipates third-quarter revenue to be between $250 million and $265 million, above the market consensus estimate of $237 million. Following this news, Rocket Lab's shares fell about 2% in after-hours trading. Additionally, Rocket Lab announced that Kepler Communications has booked an exclusive Neutron launch mission, scheduled no sooner than 2028.
