Micron Outlook on "Physical AI" Ten-Year Opportunities: Human-like Robots Will Drive DRAM Demand; Supply Tightness for Storage Chips May Persist Until After 2027
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, at the KeyBanc Capital Markets Annual Technology Leaders Forum, Micron Technology (MU.US) Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer Sumit Sadana stated that due to the ongoing surge in demand driven by artificial intelligence and the industry's inability to keep pace with capacity expansion, the supply tightness in the memory chip market is expected to persist beyond 2027. Sadana revealed that since the release of Micron's latest financial report, customer demand signals have further strengthened, and the company anticipates that the supply-demand landscape for the calendar year 2027 "will be tighter than in 2026," with no current insight into when industry supply might align with demand.
