Trump Media: Over 10,000 registered users on Truth Social's real-time information feed.
The media company of U.S. President Trump announced on Monday that over 10 clients have registered for the live information feed of popular accounts on Truth Social. The product has drawn criticism for allegedly blurring the lines between the first family's business interests and White House affairs. Trump Media & Technology Group stated that the Truth API allows users to access posts from popular accounts on Truth Social more quickly. Trump frequently posts updates on significant events such as trade deals and the war in Iran on the platform. During the first earnings call held by Trump Media on Monday, interim CEO Kevin McGurn indicated that early registrants primarily consist of high-frequency trading firms paying between $60,000 and $100,000 per month. McGurn also mentioned that the company is in "active" discussions with other potential clients and aims to eventually market to retail traders. "Right now, we are still in the early stages," he said. Government oversight agencies and congressional Democrats criticized the service, claiming the president's actions are providing investors with access to information channels that could affect the market. The company reported on Monday that its revenue for the second quarter was $1.7 million, with a net loss of $238 million, largely due to poorly timed bets on Bitcoin. Last week, Trump Media also canceled its agreement with Crypto.com, with both parties originally planning to launch prediction market features on Truth Social and create an independent digital asset reserve.
