On the news front, Berkshire Hathaway's operational performance showed steady growth in the second quarter, accompanied by a significant increase in stock buybacks. As of August 8, Berkshire's latest data revealed that the operating profit for the second quarter of 2026 was $12.983 billion, an increase of about 16% compared to $11.160 billion in the same period last year; the operating profit for the first half of the year reached $24.329 billion, a year-over-year growth of approximately 17%.
