Hang Seng Indexes Company: Seeking Market Opinions on Possible Revisions to the Hang Seng Technology Index

Hang Seng Indexes Company today published a consultation document to solicit market opinions on potential amendments to the Hang Seng Tech Index. In response to the ongoing expansion of the technology sector in the Hong Kong stock market, the proposed revisions aim to broaden the thematic scope of the index, adjust the stock selection mechanism, and increase the number of constituent stocks to align with technological advancements and maintain the index's representativeness. Amendments to the Hang Seng Tech Index are expected to be announced by the end of September 2026 and implemented in the index review as of September 30, 2026, pending a final decision by the Index Advisory Committee after considering the consultation feedback. Any corresponding changes to the index constituents will take effect in the index adjustment in December 2026.
