After two previous convictions and nearly $1 billion in damages, the American metaverse platform company will again stand trial this week as a defendant in federal court. On August 12, a lawsuit filed by four states will commence jury selection at the Oakland federal court. The prosecution accuses Meta's social media platform of addictive design that harms minors and seeks $14 trillion in damages.
