The Ministry of Natural Resources has launched a Level IV response for geological disaster prevention in Hebei, Henan, and Hubei.
According to predictions from meteorological departments and assessments from the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, due to the impact of this year's No. 13 typhoon "Baheidolphin," strong rainfall is expected in Hebei, Henan, and Hubei over the next three days, with a higher risk of geological disasters in parts of southern Hebei, western and northern Henan, and western Hubei. The Ministry of Natural Resources launched a Level IV geological disaster defense response for Hebei, Henan, and Hubei at 9:00 AM on August 10. The Ministry requires the natural resource authorities in Hebei, Henan, and Hubei to enhance their risk awareness and sense of urgency, strengthen bottom-line thinking and extreme thinking, pay close attention to the prevention and response of geological disasters triggered by heavy rainfall, organize inspections and investigations in a timely manner, and ensure effective monitoring and early warning, consultations and assessments, disaster and risk management, as well as duty assignments and information reporting; the China Geological Survey and the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources will strengthen consultations and assessments and expert dispatches to fully assist local authorities in their geological disaster prevention efforts.
