Hong Kong breaks the record for the highest temperature since 1884.

The Hong Kong Observatory announced on the 9th that as of 3:30 PM that afternoon, the highest recorded temperature was 36.9 degrees, making it the highest temperature in Hong Kong since records began in 1884. Sheung Shui recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees, which is the highest record recorded by the Observatory since it established automatic weather stations in Hong Kong.
