On August 9, 2026, at 13:00, the Jiangsu Provincial Meteorological Station upgraded and issued a yellow rainstorm warning: It is expected that from this afternoon to tomorrow, regions such as Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, and Zhenjiang will experience heavy rainfall with an hourly precipitation of 50 mm or a 24-hour precipitation of 150 mm or more. According to the Jiangsu Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Command Center, starting from 14:00 on August 9, 2026, in response to the yellow rainstorm warning issued by the Jiangsu Provincial Meteorological Station, a Level III emergency response for flood control has been activated for the six cities of Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, and Zhenjiang. Jiangsu requires all levels of government and relevant departments in the affected areas to closely monitor the rainfall situation, enhance emergency duty and analysis, strengthen risk management and control, prepare for emergency flood prevention and drainage measures, and promptly organize the evacuation of residents in risky areas.
