Meta CTO: The time saved by AI is not meant for taking a vacation.

Should technology workers empowered by AI be granted more vacation time after a significant increase in productivity? The answer from Meta's Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth is no. Three individuals who attended the meeting revealed that Bosworth discussed this issue during an employee Q&A session held in early July. A Meta employee asked whether the productivity gains brought by AI could be translated into more vacation time, particularly with the possibility of reinstating the canceled "Meta Days" holiday plan. This plan previously allowed employees to take a few extra days off. In response, Bosworth stated that while working at Meta is not easy, the time saved by employees should be used to develop more products for users, as Meta's employees "are doing the most exciting things on this planet."
