As SpaceX's acquisition approaches, Cursor plans branding and several other adjustments.
According to informed sources, Cursor informed employees during a company-wide meeting on Thursday that SpaceX may complete its $60 billion acquisition of the code startup as early as next weekend, and hinted that the Cursor brand may gradually be phased out on new products over the coming months. The sources stated that, for example, the upcoming general-purpose intelligent agent from Cursor may adopt Grok Bot as its brand name. One insider indicated that Cursor has no immediate plans to change the names of existing tools, including its popular Cursor code assistant. The sources noted that the exact timing of the transaction's completion depends on obtaining regulatory approval, but it is expected to close by the end of this month at the latest.
