The water level of the Danube River within Serbian territory has dropped to its lowest level in almost a century.

Due to the ongoing heatwave and drought, the water level of the Danube River in Serbia continues to decline. Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivica Dai stated on the 7th that the water level of the Danube within Serbia has dropped to its lowest point in nearly a century. Meanwhile, there are still nine wildfires burning in Serbia. Dai mentioned that the hydrometeorological situation in Serbia remains severe, and the low water levels have impacted inland shipping and the energy sector. Relevant departments are taking measures to ensure the supply of water resources and the normal operation of infrastructure. Although the situation has improved compared to previous days, high temperatures are still expected to persist; thus, the crisis is not over. In response to the water scarcity issue, Dai called on all parties to adopt water-saving measures.
