On the evening of August 5 local time, the China Enterprise Association of Mining Firms in the Congo issued a clarification statement, explicitly pointing out that recent reports in online and industry channels regarding excessive uranium content in cobalt products produced by Chinese enterprises in southeastern Congo are false reports. These statements mislead market perceptions, disrupt the normal operating order of the industry, and negatively affect the reputation of Chinese mining enterprises in the Congo and the international trade reputation of cobalt products. The statement indicated that after a thorough investigation by the association, all normal operating Chinese mining enterprises in southeastern Congo have no instances of excessive uranium content in all cobalt products they mine, process, and export. All member companies strictly comply with Congo's mining regulatory laws and international trade testing standards. In the early hours of August 6, the Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo also released this clarification statement.
