According to information from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, based on the results of a sample survey of domestic residents' travel, in the first half of 2026, the number of domestic residents traveling reached 3.463 billion, an increase of 178 million compared to the same period last year, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.4%. By quarter, in the first quarter, the number of domestic residents traveling was 1.901 billion, and in the second quarter, it was 1.562 billion. The total expenditure for domestic residents' travel was 3.21 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.06 trillion yuan compared to the previous year, with a year-on-year growth of 2.0%.
