According to multiple sources, Lao Zhiming, Managing Director and member of the Investment Banking Executive Committee at Huatai United Securities, is set to leave the company, concluding his 22-year career there. He revealed that this departure is not the beginning of a new entrepreneurial journey, but rather a form of "semi-retirement." He plans to focus on content creation for social media and merger and acquisition consulting in the future. As of now, the official website of the China Securities Association indicates that he is still registered as an employee, and the resignation process has not yet been finalized. As a benchmark figure in the domestic merger and acquisition sector, he has led the creation of several landmark restructuring cases, helping Huatai United's M&A business grow into a leading player in the industry, and his departure has sparked widespread discussion within the field.
