The Robert Koch Institute in Germany released a report on the 6th, stating that as of July 26, approximately 11,900 people in Germany have died from heat-related causes this year, making it the deadliest year for heat-related deaths since the institute began tracking this data in 2016. The report conservatively estimates that around 9,600 people died due to the extreme heatwave in late June this year, and the actual death toll may still increase.
