Guangdong becomes the first province in the country to exceed 100 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity consumption in a single month.
Recently, reporters learned from China Southern Power Grid that in the first half of this year, the electricity consumption in the nine cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area reached 304.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year, setting a historical record for the same period. High-end manufacturing has become the core support for industrial electricity consumption, with increases across the board in electricity use for automobiles, specialized equipment, and electronics manufacturing. Among them, the momentum of Guangzhou's new energy industry is particularly noteworthy, with the production of new energy vehicles increasing by 53.2% year-on-year in the first half of the year.
