Meituan: The search volume for flight tickets increased by 42% on the day the fuel surcharge was reduced.

Starting from August 5, the fuel surcharge for domestic flights has been reduced again, further lowering travel costs for passengers. Data from Meituan shows that on the day of the surcharge reduction, the number of flight searches increased by 42% year-on-year, with high travel demand from tourists in cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Shanghai. Currently, it is the peak summer travel season, and families with children account for over 40% of bookings on the platform. Since July, the number of flight bookings by family travelers has increased by approximately 18% year-on-year, and related searches for family travel have risen by 26% compared to the previous month.
