Ding Yan, the CTO of Baidu's Mink Robot, has recently resigned, and the official response is pending.
Ding Yan, co-CTO of Luminescent Robotics, has recently left the company, and the status of their team collaboration software currently shows "suspended." His tenure lasted less than 280 days from his onboarding on November 2, 2025, until his recent departure. Public records indicate that Luminescent Robotics was founded in September 2024 in Shenzhen by Yu Chao, the former head of humanoid robot business at Weimi Technology. Ding Yan is an expert in the robotics field and was appointed co-CTO of Luminescent Robotics on November 2, 2025. He graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Binghamton University in New York and previously worked on robotic perception and control research at Ford and Meta, before returning to China to work at Shanghai AI Lab. According to reports, the R&D team at Luminescent Robotics remains stable in size, with over 70% being research personnel, including more than a dozen PhDs covering various technical areas such as robot body and intelligent algorithms. Regarding this news, Sina Technology has reached out to Luminescent Robotics for verification, but as of publication, there has been no response.
