In the first half of the year, the global high-end smartphone market share reached a historic high of 29%.
On August 6, according to the latest smartphone sales tracking report released by Counterpoint Research, the global high-end smartphone market continued to demonstrate growth resilience in the first half of 2026, with sales increasing by 5% year-on-year. Its share of total global smartphone sales rose to 29%, reaching a historical high, surpassing 25% in the first half of 2025 and 20% in the first half of 2022. The growth in the high-end market share in the first half of 2026 was primarily driven by rising storage costs, which had a more pronounced impact on the mid-range and entry-level markets. High-end OEMs, benefiting from higher profit margins and reduced promotional expenditures, were better able to absorb the pressure from rising costs, thereby maintaining demand in an overall market under stress.
