Houthi forces again claimed to have attacked Saudi oil tankers.

On the evening of August 5, local time, the Yemeni Houthi forces announced that they launched missiles at a Saudi oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden. It was claimed that "the missiles hit the target, forcing the oil tanker to turn back." The Houthi forces stated in their announcement that this attack is part of the implementation of a "maritime shipping ban" against Saudi Arabia and the implementation of "responding to a blockade with a blockade" measures. The Houthis "will continue to monitor all Saudi oil tanker movements, and until the relevant blockade is lifted, Saudi oil tankers will not be allowed to pass through the north-south route in the Red Sea." Earlier that day, the Houthis also claimed to have launched a missile attack on a Saudi oil tanker near the Saudi port city of Yanbu in the Red Sea.
