Astron Financial (08333.HK) has issued a profit warning, expecting a mid-term net loss of approximately HKD 4 million, a shift from profit to loss compared to the same period last year.

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Astron Financial (08333.HK) has announced that the Group expects to incur a net loss of approximately HKD 4 million for the six months ending June 30, 2026 (the current period), compared to a net profit of approximately HKD 200,000 for the six months ending June 30, 2025 (the corresponding period). The expected fluctuation in the Group's financial performance during the current period is primarily due to (a) the recognition of a compulsory redemption loss of approximately HKD 2.6 million from non-listed investment funds during the current period (corresponding period: none); (b) a net loss of approximately HKD 400,000 arising from the fair value changes of financial assets recognized in profit or loss at fair value during the current period (corresponding period: a gain of approximately HKD 140); and (c) an increase in total employee benefit expenses of approximately HKD 1.8 million during the current period, which was partially offset by (d) an increase in revenue of approximately HKD 2.7 million during the current period.
