The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow lightning warning signal at 11:50 on August 5, 2026: Lightning activity is expected within 6 hours in the western part of Bayannur City, the eastern and southern parts of Ordos City, Baotou City, Hohhot City, the central and southern parts of Ulanqab City, most areas of Xilin Gol League, the northern part of Chifeng City, the central part of Tongliao City, and the western part of Hulunbuir City. Some areas may experience short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, and other severe convective weather, which could lead to hazards such as lightning strikes, floods, and urban waterlogging. Relevant units and personnel are advised to make precautionary preparations.
