On July 31, the State Council's Executive Meeting decided to approve four nuclear power projects: the second phase of the JinQimen Nuclear Power Plant in Zhejiang, the third phase of the Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong, the first phase of the Zhuanghe Nuclear Power Plant in Liaoning, and the first phase of the Laiyang Nuclear Power Plant in Shandong, totaling eight nuclear power units. This marks the first batch of nuclear power projects approved during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It is estimated that the total investment for these new projects will exceed 170 billion yuan. According to reports, as an important hub for China's nuclear power industry, Shanghai Nuclear Power has fully leveraged its advantages in industrial chain clustering and has already undertaken various contracts totaling nearly 50 billion yuan for the preliminary bidding of the eight newly approved units.
