Microchip Technology and Micron jointly showcase high-performance PCIe Gen 6 storage architecture.

On August 4 local time, Microchip Technology announced a collaboration with Micron Technology to showcase an end-to-end PCIe Gen 6 storage architecture at the 2026 Global Flash Summit. This solution combines Microchip's Switchtec PCIe Gen 6 switch chip with Micron's 9650 NVMe solid-state drive, aimed at providing higher throughput, lower latency, and scalable connectivity for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and cloud data centers.
