The State Council has established an investigative assessment team for the "717" particularly significant landslide disaster in Pengshui Hanjia Street, Chongqing.
On July 17, a landslide occurred in Hanjia Street, Pengshui County, Chongqing, resulting in significant casualties. To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and follow the directives of Premier Li Qiang and other central leaders, and in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations, the State Council established an investigation and evaluation team led by the Ministry of Emergency Management, with participation from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, the China Meteorological Administration, and the People's Government of Chongqing. This team will investigate and assess the "7.17" major landslide disaster in Hanjia Street, Pengshui, Chongqing. On August 4, the investigation and evaluation team for the "7.17" major landslide disaster convened its first plenary meeting in Pengshui, Chongqing. The meeting was presided over by Wang Kun, the team leader, a member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the Director of the China Earthquake Administration. The meeting provided an overview of the investigation and evaluation work arrangements and put forward work requirements. All members of the investigation and evaluation team attended the meeting.
