Organizations: Custom AI chips may capture a larger market share of AI accelerators.

Bernstein analysts stated in a research report that as the focus in the industry rapidly shifts from training to inference, custom AI chips are likely to gain more market share in the AI accelerator market. Bernstein anticipates that the total potential market size for AI accelerators will reach $50 billion by 2027. They noted that while GPUs still hold the largest share, the market share of custom AI chips could double from 10% in 2025 to 20% in 2027. Broadcom has reached a long-term agreement with Google to develop custom AI chips, while Marvell indicated that custom accelerators from all four major cloud service providers are on the rise. They added, "All these developments suggest that ASICs are no longer just a tactical complement to GPUs, but are increasingly becoming a structured layer in AI infrastructure planning."
