On the evening of August 3, the joint investigation team in Haikou, Hainan Province, released a situation report: Recently, some netizens posted on social media platforms reflecting issues such as law enforcement personnel encountering difficulties in filing cases after discovering unreported transportation of hazardous goods, gaps in port safety production supervision, and law enforcement personnel receiving unfair treatment. In response, Haikou has established a joint investigation team composed of public security, judicial, emergency, maritime, and organizational personnel departments to conduct investigations and verifications.
Regarding the law enforcement personnel uncovering unreported transportation of hazardous goods, the public security organ has already filed a case and taken legal action in June of this year; concerning safety production risk hazards at Haikou Port, the relevant departments in Haikou are currently conducting a "Cleanup and Removal 100-day special rectification campaign on the basis of regular supervision, with strict investigations and enforcement; as for the reported individual issues, the investigation team is in the process of verifying and understanding them.
The investigation team stated that they will strengthen inter-departmental cooperation, resolutely seal off loopholes, increase case filing and enforcement efforts, rigorously enforce corporate primary responsibilities, and firmly establish a safety production barrier at the port.
