The White House will convene artificial intelligence companies on Tuesday to review the AI regulatory framework.

According to five informed sources, the Trump administration has invited staff from major tech companies such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic to the White House on Tuesday to review the final version of the artificial intelligence regulatory framework. This framework will establish a voluntary mechanism requiring AI laboratories to submit relevant models to the government before launching them to partners and the public. An executive order issued in early June of this year mandated the completion of the framework by August 1, and this meeting is scheduled to take place a few days after that deadline. Another source stated that the meeting is hosted by the National Cyber Directors office under the executive branch, and the invitation specifies that the meeting will discuss subsequent plans for advancing the framework, as well as an undisclosed related activity. Two informed sources noted that the attendees will be mid-level staff from the companies, rather than executives, and the new framework will not be officially released to the public at this meeting. It is currently unclear whether the White House will gather feedback from companies during the meeting, or if it will announce the final version of the framework.
