In the age of artificial intelligence, corporate executives are re-evaluating the value of an MBA. A survey conducted by consulting firm PwC among over 1,000 executives in the U.S. financial services industry shows that about 86% of respondents believe that for many new employees, the value of AI training has surpassed that of an MBA degree, reflecting the urgent need for companies to effectively apply AI technology. The survey, released on Monday, also indicates that companies are willing to pay higher salaries for AI skills. Ninety-one percent of the surveyed executives reported that they are increasing the salaries of employees with AI skills. Peter Pollini, PwC's financial services industry leader, stated, "The market clearly needs not only people who know what AI agents are, but also talent that understands how to build and manage these agents." He added that many companies are seeking talent with technical skills to help implement the identified AI application scenarios.
